April 2009: Exciting Times for Guildford City Boys

Having secured a massive £261,463 boost to our fund raising efforts from the Football Foundation and further support from Guildford Borough Council, work is now well on it's way to rebuild the Stoughton Recreation ground Pavillion into a larger, modern facility. The improved Pavilion include new provisions for:

  • improved changing room sizes
  • improved washing/toilet facilities for boys and girls
  • referees changing facilities (2 to accommodate male and female referees)
  • new ladies toilet facilities
  • disabled toilet facility
  • new kitchen and outside service hatch
  • social area expanded for coaching courses and lectures
  • secure doors and windows
  • full disabled access
  • security shuttering
  • a new, pitched roof.
The full press release from the Football Foundation can be read here.

December 2008: Hilarious Panto!!

It's behind you!In support of the Guildford City Boys FC Pavilion Development Project, the Fairlands Players laid on a hilarious special presentation of Hansel & Gretel at The Fairlands Community Centre.

A terrific perfomance from all involved, including a cameo appearance from Robin "Burgers" Hamilton.

Plenty of boo-hiss moments for the bad Attrocia the Witch (Trudi Barnett) and nasty Sir Rupert de Rottweiler (David Loveder), but Hansel (Jez Pickering) and Gretel (Helen Parsons) win the day in the end with help from the kind Forest Fairy (Angela Hurlow).

Plenty of comedy delivered all round, in particular the superb pairing of Dame Do-Good (Oliver Byng) and Dickie Dymwit (Fee Rynolds) who were outstanding... the scene with the eggs in the Witches kitchen was just one of many that had us in stitches. A real treat for all.

The Players, families and Committes of Guildford City Boys F.C. gratefully acknowledge the time and expertise of The Fairlands Players in helping to raise finds for our Club.

We also thanks The Fairlands Sequence Dance Club for giving up their club night to allow this performance to take place.

October 2008: Unfortunately the Race Night scheduled for 1st November has had to be postponed. A new date will be released soon.

September 2008: Guildford City Youth Season Tickets go on sale!

All clubs playing Youth teams in the floodlit midweek Southern Youth League incur extra costs such as the provision of a floodlit pitch. To offset these costs, all clubs charge a nominal entrance fee to come and watch an exciting game of Academy-standard Youth football.

GCYFC is no exception to this with a £3 Adult entrance fee for all League and Cup fixtures played at the Spectrum.

But you could save yourself a few bob and support the Youth in the process with the purchase of a Youth Season ticket for the bargain price of just £25. This covers:

  • All GCYFC home League and Cup matches to be played at the Spectrum for Season 2008/09
  • Reduced gate fee for accompanying GCBFC 11-a-side player of just £1
  • Completely free entry for accompanying GCBFC mini-soccer players
All enquiries email Alan Unwin please (further contact details on the Management page), and thank you for your support.
