GCBFC Under 15 Tiger's 2008/09 Match Reports

Date : 12th October 2008
Fixture : Surrey Primary League Premier Div
Result : Guildford City Tigers 3 - 2 Feltham Youth Whites

The return of Feltham Youth to the Surrey Primary League was likely to be the toughest opposition that the Tigers had played at home so far. The first half proved to be very even with two lively sets of forwards being thwarted from by sets of well organized defenses.

The dead lock was finally broken when Ryan Wallis scored the only goal of the first half after good work from strike partner Dan Kelly, The second half proved to be just as even and it was Feltham who gained the advantage by scoring twice as the game entered its final quarter, but the Tigers dug in and got the equalizer they deserved with a Dan Kelly header.

With the game entering the last five minutes Kelly clinched the victory for City in a very evenly contested game played in a fantastic spirit which meant three league wins out of four for the Tigers

Date : 5th October 2008
Fixture : Surrey Primary League Premier Div
Result : Guildford City Tigers 7 – 1 Milford Pumas

The Tigers returned to league action following defeat in the County Cup the previous week to one of last years semi-finalists. Dan Kelly scored the first with a left footed chip over the Milford keeper. Kelly got another to give City a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Milford started to get back in the game and the first goal in the second half was going to be an important one for whichever team scored it. It was Dan Kelly who got his hat-trick which gave City the upper hand briefly in the second half before Milford got one back to keep themselves in the game.

The Tigers eventually wore the Pumas down and went on to win the game convincingly with a further three goals from Kelly and a headed goal from Joshua Hall. The Tigers could even afford a missed penalty from Harry Brooks in the last few minutes.

This was another very good squad performance by the boys who are so far enjoying their football this season.
